Maybe like you, I am one of those people figuring it out as I go. I believe that eating well, moving enough, and getting a good night’s sleep are the building blocks of well-being. Add in being needed by others, having places where you belong, and having work that is meaningful, and I believe that you are on your way to well-being and happiness.
Yes, I cook for my family to feed them, but it is also how I express love; it is a creative outlet; and it is a source of relaxation for me. My focus is relatively simple, fresh, healthy meals that appeal both to some of the less adventurous in the group, as well as the more sophisticated palates in the group. The recipes and essays you find here reflect how I am drawing on what I think are the ingredients for happiness– eating well, creating a place of belonging, and always learning through finding new recipes, techniques, and tastes.
